Travel Guide Tour. Vacation Tour.

Along the path 406, accompanied by an Environmental Hiking Guide, you “descend” towards the Gravina stream surrounded by typical local vegetation. At the end of the route, you will find yourself on the vast Murgico plateau that faces the Sassi of Matera, and constitutes the Regional Park of the Rupestrian Churches of Materano. It is a large rocky hilly area marked by deep karst fissures called: "Gravine". The spectacle that appears before your eyes is truly breathtaking, since the whole town of the Sassi appears in all its splendor beyond the ravine. After visiting the Murgia Park, we will proceed to cross the Tibetan Bridge of Matera, one of the main attractions for hikers. At the end of the route, a shuttle will take visitors back to Matera Central Station (Piazza Matteotti)

The Regional Park of the Rupestrian Churches of Materano since 2007 has also been declared a World Heritage Site. It is a large rocky hilly area marked by deep karst fissures called: "Gravine". The spectacle that appears before your eyes is truly breathtaking, since the whole town of the Sassi appears in all its splendor beyond the ravine. During this historical-naturalistic walk, the visitor will be able to walk the path of man: from the settlements of the Paleolithic to the entrenched villages of the Neolithic period of "Murgia Timone", from the pastoral communities of the Middle Ages to the rocky settlements of the Greek-Byzantine hermitic communities that precisely on this plateau they founded monasteries, degrees and rock churches.

Along the path 406, accompanied by an Environmental Hiking Guide, you “descend” towards the Gravina stream surrounded by typical local vegetation. After crossing the walkway, before going up to the starting point, a short stop allows you to admire the suggestive landscape while the guide tells all its secrets!
