Halikoutides were were African slaves living in huts made of mud, who arrived on the island with the slave markets that flourished in Crete during the period of Ottoman rule. Today, you will see only a large pedestrian street with cafes and taverns and a beautiful beach. Kum Kapi is mostly locals hangout ideal location to explore the town because it is close to the Old town , the Old Marketplace and the city center. There is a small beach in front and amazing view in winter and summer .
