The house is situated along an evergreen river valley with the popular resort of Platanias and its renowned sandy beach 1.5 km away along a quiet country road, popular with walkers and cyclists. The location combines a peaceful country setting with easy access to bars, restaurants and nightlife, some within walking distance. The fascinating town of Chania with its Venetian harbor and rich history is just 15km away. The White Mountains and their famous gorges, the beautiful beaches of western Crete, and the dramatic and unspoiled south coast are within easy reach for a day out.

Travel Details from the host -> Lucy has studied languages and tourism and has worked in the tourist industry and as a teacher. She is also an accomplished painter and has exhibited in various countries. Mike is a Naval Architect and has worked in the energy business. We have travelled a lot and have lived in England, France, Monaco, Greece, Australia and Texas. We have two grown up daughters who live in Singapore and Australia. We now divide our time between Greece and England. We love painting, sailing and looking after our olive trees. We want to continue producing top quality olive oil.
