The space
Quite simply a lovely apartment to come back to after a day out. The bedroom and the open plan dining and sitting areas are spacious and comfortably furnished. A bay window allows lots of light and good views over a quiet street. The bedroom faces over the inner courtyard of gardens.

The neighbourhood is called Vrsovice. It is a little gem with a character of its own even though it is really an extension of Vinohrady. The architecture is predominantly art nouveau and deco; very elegant. The main park (Grebovka/Hlavickovy Sady) is actually a chateau gardens and vineyard. You can drink the wine in the local pavilion. The smaller park has a children's playground and is ideal for sunbathing or picnicking. Vrsovice has some fine restaurants (see my Prague Tips), cafes (Jens for breakfast is perfect), and bars. Krymska street, famous for its nightlife, is seven minutes walk (far enough not to hear the noise!). This is a proper neighbourhood with local stores, a school and church etc and there is a welcome absence of anything tacky or touristy, and yet it is within a good walk of the centre if you don't feel like hoping on tram 22, or bus 135. After all, part of the joy of Prague is that it is small enough to ramble about and big enough to get lost!
