The district Koukakis (or as it has prevailed, Koukaki) is located on the southeastern side of the Filopappos Hill in the shadow of Acropolis. It borders the regions of Petralona New World and the Acropolis and is crossed by the Syggrou avenue. Koukaki are densely populated area already congested by the 1960s and 1970s but remains expensive neighborhood due to its proximity to Acropolis. Koukaki is served by the Fix metro station (red line). The name derives from the large crafts beds of "Koukakis" that worked before the war in Syggrou, at the height of FIX.
