This is a combination of a traditional Greek island house with contemporary features, e.g. the 'mousandra' loft visible in the pictures. There are two patios, a lower one outside front door and an upper terrace. The views from the entire property, set in the fertile, quiet village 250 m. above sea level, are absolutely magnificent, of Kira Panagia beach below, the island stretching northwards, and the island of Rhodos four hours (by ferry) distant. As the picture of the village shows, it is a complex of traditional terraces on the mountainside. There are two natural springs bubbling water out from the mountains. Generally empty now except for the occasional visit from landowners in the larger village of Aperi ten minutes away, the village was once a flourishing garden village for these same people in more traditional times past.

Travel Details from the host -> I'm American, living in Austria since 2006. I've traveled widely in the world, and continue to do so with my wife, though now Spiti Octopodia is our primary destination for our excursions. We are both teachers and enjoy alternative experiences when we travel. Which explains why we undertook building our dream getaway house in this setting. I actually rented my apartment in Vienna through Airbnb for five years beginning in 2012 and had many good experiences with guests.
