Having the village as a starting point one can explore the surrounding area through hiking,trekking,skiing or climbing and enjoy the unique nature and cretan hospitality.
The space
The house#3 is a rennovated traditional stable on 2 levels. The ground level has a fully equipped kitchen, dinning area with fireplace and a spacious bathroom. The second level is where the two double bedrooms are found and each of them has a separate stairway access from the ground floor. The widely used traditional materials of wood and stone enhance the houses' warm feeling and cosiness. Visitors get to cross over the exciting bridge which unites the two sides of the gorge- also famous for it's deepest gorge bungee-jump in Europe.There is a canteen at the gorge open all day for coffee, juice and snacks and then there are 4-5 tavernas, a traditional bakery and a Mini Market at the Anopoli village, just 3 km from the house.
For swimming:
The Illingas beach with its turquoise refreshing water is just 20' of relaxed driving by car. For those who are more adventurous; Marmara beach is an iddylic place as it is found in the end of the gorges' route and offers many caves to explore. Marmara beach is also accessible by ferries that depart frequently from Sfakia port.
In both beaches there are tavernas that are open on high summer season.
