St-Catherine is a lively neighbourhood with plenty of bars and restaurants. The Mima museum (Millennium Iconoclast Museum of Art) is nearby (less than 15’ walk). The city centre with a.o. Grand Place is within walking distance (15’). Add another 5’ to continue your walk to ‘manneken pis’.
Easy access to the metro: St-Catherine and Yser stations are only a couple of minutes away.
Gare du Nord/Noord station is less than 20’ walk, or you can take the bus. The metro from St-Catherine brings you to Gare centrale/Centraal station in less than 10’. Tram 51 brings you to Gare du midi/Zuidstation in less than 15’.
Both mainstream shopping in Rue neuve/Nieuwstraat and boutiques in Dansaertstraat/Rue Dansaert are within walking distance.

Travel Details from the host -> I love travelling and exploring: I travelled twice overland between Europe and Asia, once along the Silk Road (Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, China, Japan, Burma) and a second time the Transsiberian (Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, China incl. Tibet, Mongolia, Russia, Ukraine). But also: Nicaragua, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, ... I would be very happy to receive any guests from these destinations or exchange travel stories. In between travels I currently work as an innovation manager for a bank insurance group. Contemporary art exhibitions, theatre, movies, hiking,...take up my free time.
