At Theseon, at a walking distance from Athens' historical centre, the Akropolis and the areas where any cultural event worth mentioning occurs, my workshop served me for 10 years as my art-studio. From the beginning, I have had it equipped sufficiently also as a cosy living space, with a mini sleeping loft, a sink/refrigerator/microwave space and a mini bathroom/WC. It's ideal for couples. Now, after having transferred my art studio elsewhere, I made the place available to guests full time.

Travel Details from the host -> Michael Odysseus Yakoumakis was born on 1956 in Athens of Greece. He graduated in Fine Arts (Painting) and in Geological Sciences at Naples of Italy, and in Computer Science at Athens. He enhanced his education and experience by learning Sumi-e, Comic Design, Incision & Printmaking, Artistic Book-binding and Graphics Design. Currently he studies towards a Master's degree in Art Therapy. He is a regular member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece, Greece's official professional guild of fine artists, supervised by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture He worked as a Systems Engineer and Fine Artist until 2003, when he decided to focus exclusively on the Fine Arts. Since then he lives in Athens where he works as a Painter, Illustrator, Tutor of Fine Arts and Fantasy Fiction Writer. He founded the “Romantic Anonymous Fellowship”, Athenian group of the “Stuckism International” movement of Fine Artists. He writes and illustrates two series of fantasy fiction graphic literature: “The Chronicles of the Archipelago” and “The Chronicles of the West”. His painting oeuvre has, until now, been presented at several personal shows in Athens, Kythera Island and Thessaloniki and at several group shows in Montreal, Nicosia, London, Rome, Hamburg, Liverpool, Florence, Athens, Canterbury, New York and Tehran. Interests and hobbies He is a dedicated martial artist. Since 1974 he practices daily Katori Shinto Ryu, Shorin Ryu Karate Do, Matayoshi Kobudo and Fiore dei Liberi. He tries sincerely to practice Zen Buddhism, Druidism and Shamanism consistently. He is a passionate amateur scholar of History and Sociology. He loves reading quality literature and fiction (with an emphasis to Fantasy and Sci-Fi), listening to quality music (mostly Medieval, Renaissance, Classical, Jazz, Old Rock, Ethnic and Electronic) and watching quality movies (among his favourite film-directors Akira Kurosawa, Hayao Miyazaki, the Taviani Brothers, Luc Besson, Stanley Kubrick, Louis Bunuel, Ridley Scott, Alfred Hitchcock, Lina Wertmüller, Wim Wenders, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino) He enjoys greatly hiking on the mountains and in the forests, bicycling, camping outdoors and travelling far and for long (He dreams visiting Latin America, China and Japan). Some of his most dear friends are cats - and one tamed wolf. He bears no enmity to anyone...
