Astahi Cottage is situated near the inland farming hamlet Avlona, 6 klm. north of the charming traditional village Olympos in northern Karpathos. Accessed by a paved
road, it is an old style, rural stone guest house. Completely refurbished and renovated, it is traditionally decorated, perched on the eastern edge of a fertile plateau. The Avlona
plain is divided into dozens of small fields and vineyards enclosed by stone walls.
The space
The cottage indoors has a traditional " soufa" , a raised platform sleeping area with storage space underneath. It easily accomodates 4 people with the possibility for an extra bed for a fifth person.
The old ancestral cistern gives the building a singular air.
Amongst the furnishing is a comfortable dining set and a spacious chest of drawers
