Neighborbood Overview:

Prospect Heights is a mellow Brooklyn neighborhood of brownstones and luxury condos, anchored by cultural institutions like the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Brooklyn Museum. It's home to a deeply rooted Caribbean-American community. High-profile music and sports events at the Barclays Center draw a diverse crowd, which overflows to the craft cocktail bars and hip eateries on Vanderbilt and Washington avenues.

I highly recommend the Brooklyn Museum's First Saturday (free) events. You can't miss the Botanic Garden's Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring, and Prospect Park is (in my opinion) so much better than Central Park. Check out their ice skating rink in the winter or rent a row boat in the summer after a lovely picnic.
