in area-Episkopi, GreeceEpiskopi is a nice picturesque village around 15km away from the city of Rethymnon. It is built over the biggest beach in Crete; the beach of Petres-Episkopi. The beach is sandy and around 15km long.
Just a couple of minutes walk from the beach there is a olive-tree field and our house is built in there. Actually it is a small farm. There are the olive trees, sheep and goats, chicken, cats, tortoises. There is also a vegetable garden planted and you can use the vegetables for your meals, or ask us to prepare your meals for you.
The town was active since the Geometric period, but it flourished mostly during the Hellenistic and Roman periods, as it is evidenced by its coins.Excavations at the area are still going on and interesting finds as two statues of marble are displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Rethymnon.
