Everyone knows that Jack the Ripper’s Whitechapel murders took place in 1888, but not everyone knows where. The tour begins at Aldgate East Underground Station , where the first murder took place, and then the tour continues throughout Whitechapel.Aldgate East may just be a short walk from Aldgate station, but it’s not exactly easy to find. Located at the intersection of Commercial Road and Whitechapel Road, Aldgate East is near the London Docks. This was a particularly notorious location for crime in the Victorian era, and today is home to a number of warehouses.
