Luminous studio of 30m² with a semi-private mezzanine bed for 2 and a convertible sofa for 2. Renovated in 2015, it is on the 1st floor of a building from the 70s, with an unusual view on the green flat roof in a vibrant neighborhood of 19th arrondissement in Paris.

The space
We bought and renovated this studio in which we live since april 2015. She, Katarina (architect) and I, Pierre (photojournalist) are a young mix couple that lives in this apartment we created to our pleasing. Functional and minimalist, it permits us to live in 30m².

Mezzanine contains a double bed (dimensions 140 x 190cm), for two people. In the living space there is a design convertible sofa that transforms into another double extra long bed (dimensions 140 x 200cm).

Bathroom is heated, equipped with a washing machine, sink, suspended toilet, shower with hot water. There is also a hair dryer you can use.

Neighborbood Overview:

It's a working class neighborhood that is very lively and in constant transformation. The street Rue du Maroc, where the apartment is, makes a link between, on the east, La Villette bassin, less known than the canal Saint Martin, which offers another view of Paris with it's two cinemas on the two banks, it's numerous restaurants and it's houseboats where one can wine&dine. On the west, the new park Jardin D'Eole, a contemporary park and the Halle Pajol, a new contemporary architecture housing a hostel, restaurants, a library, and diverse shops. On the north the center 104 renews the culture scene of the neighborhood.

NB: The neighborhood has many social housing units and a population of several origins lives there. The streets are lively and many migrants find refuges in this area of Paris. But despite the busy streets, it is a very pleasant place with lots of solidarity and little risk for your safety.
