The BANQUETING HOUSE, a splendid 17C Palladian Inspired building designed by Inigo Jones. Outside it Charles I was executed in 1649 on a built platform from an upper window. TRAFALGAR SQUARE dominated by Nelson's column where Nelson's statue celebrates England's naval power. HORSEGUARDS PARADE where a daily ceremony of the Queens' Life Guard takes place at 11 am. ST JAMES'S PARK, London's oldest park where one can observe plants and wild life on the lake leading to BUCKINGHAM PALACE, the magnificent Queen's London Residence. ST.JAMES'S PALACE, converted in 1532 to a Royal Palace .

The tour, guided entirely outside by Art Historians, starts with Westminster Abbey the iconic Church built by Henry III in13C. Proceeding along Whitehall, the road connecting Parliament Square to Trafalgar Square, passing the Houses of Parliament, Downing Street where N.10 has been the Prime Ministers Residence since Walpole British first Prime Minister and the Banqueting Hall, a splendid building designed by Inigo Jones, site where Charles I was beheaded. Proceeds to Trafalgar square, a meeting place dominated by Nelson's Statue and the National Gallery. Leaving the Square through the Admiralty Arch it passes Horseguards Parade, then enters St James's Park leading to Buckingham Palace, Queen Elisabeth's London residence. Taking the Mall, the Tour passes St James's Palace, last Royal Palace built in London, converted to a Royal Residence in 1532 and then up St James's Street to Piccadilly and Piccadilly Circus. The Tour terminates at Fortnum & Mason were the Queen Shops at Christmas.


After having met your Art Historian Guide at Westminster Abbey and having visited already the Houses of Parliament, the Banqueting house and 10 Downing Street, residence of the prime Minister, we go the Trafalgar Square. This impressive expanse dominated by Nelson's Column and flanked by the National Gallery, is world famous as a meeting point. The Square's name commemorates the battle of Trafalgar and the English Naval Power. The beautiful fountains attract visitors wanting to enjoy all the activities taking place in and around the square. One will spend a good 15 minutes here.


The Queen's London Residence. Magnificent 18 Century Building created for the Duke of Buckingham in1703 and acquired by George III in 1761. It has been the focal point to the British People at times of National rejoicings and mournings.
