Travel Guide Tour. Vacation Tour.

Are you an early bird? Do you like to get up and explore new places before the mob have had their breakfast? Well, this is the tour for you. For this private tour, we'll kick-off at 07:30 and have the city to ourselves. The city of Oxford is commonly considered to be divided into two groups: the Town (local residents) and the Gown (the University). While I am currently a ‘townie’, I have been awarded a place to study at Oxford later this year - and my fiancé is currently studying a DPhil. This gives me a unique perspective on both sides of the community and the city, and I will share it with you in a tour so entertaining and memorable that you will wish you lived here - or your money back! We’ll cover as much as we can in two hours. If you wish to enter colleges or customise the tour in any way, please feel free to reach out to me any time. Note: entry fees are not included though they are not necessary for a fantastic tour. Group size is flexible - £10 per extra person.

One of the oldest colleges in the city, and alma mata of four British Prime Ministers.

Hear the history of this stunning college, including about the infamous theft of a famous tortoise from their fiercest rivals.

An extraordinary place, and home to one of the largest rooms of books on the planet.

The oldest museum in the world and home to several mind-blowing artefacts, including two chalkboards one used by Albert Einstein himself.

The first lecture hall of the University, featuring the most incredible stone ceiling you’ve ever seen. Also features in many movies, including several Harry Potters.

Iconic structure designed by Sir Christopher Wren to hold graduation and matriculation ceremonies.

This famous bridge connects two halls of Herford College. There’s story behind it, actually.

Regale the tale of Henry VIII’s Reformation as we learn about the most fascinating library in the world. Gorgeous stone towers and more books than you’ve had hot dinners.

The ‘poster-child’ of the city of Oxford. But what is it’s purpose? And how does it tie in to Nazi Germany?

The only of Oxford’s colleges that doesn’t offer places to students. Home to the world’s hardest exams and the city’s weirdest party.

The oldest pub in Oxford. A great place to stop, or to extend the tour if you wish. Merton Lane, the High St and Christ Church meadow are calling!

This lovely college is certainly on the small side, but it's history packs quite a punch. Here, we'll discuss the Town vs Gown rivalry in Oxford, and how it resulted in one young student's death.

This beautiful meadow sits just outside Christ Church, perhaps the grandest college at Oxford.
