Pros - An old artists apartment in the Bastille area of Paris. Big windows for lots of light, in a quiet courtyard for a smidgeon of peace, and 10-15 minutes WALK from the centre of Paris for a tonne of convenience (and a lot of shops and good food).
Cons - as mentioned, it's kinda ancient. The carpet is probably older than me, and it gets a bit dusty if you disturb the books.
Extra pro - Did I mention books? There's a billion of them, and plenty of comfy spots to browse them from. :-)
The space
The apartment used to belong to an artist, and is filled with her works, for anyone who would like to browse through them. There's also a small libraries worth of books to peruse in English, French, and Dutch. The courtyard is generally peaceful and well-lit, perfect for throwing open the windows and basking in the sun while you read and drink your coffee in the mornings.
