Rouladina Apartment 2 is one of a group of just 6 apartments, set amongst a patchwork of green vineyards on the hillside just 500 metres from sandy Stalos beach. Since they were first introduced to our programme, the Rouladina Apartments have proved consistently popular with clients, who praise the high standards, warm welcome and genuine hospitality of the owners, Manolis and Dimitra.

There’s a choice of tavernas within a very short stroll of the apartments and two small mini markets no more than 100 metres away. A further choice of tavernas and mini markets are strung along the coast road 500 metres away, from where there is also a regular bus service to Chania.

7 km west of Chania, the village of Lower Stalos fringes a long, sandy beach with the island of Theodorou, said to be a petrified sea monster, rising from the sea just a short distance off shore. There are numerous small pensions and apartments as well as half a dozen convenient little mini-markets and an excellent little patisserie, selling delicious fresh baguettes and croissants. There are also a number of waterside tavernas with shady terraces overlooking the sea and teenagers can chill out at one of the atmospheric palm thatched beach bars. 1km inland the small village of Upper Stalos nestles serenely on the hillside amidst a patchwork of vineyards and olive groves.

Here you will find a slower pace of life as well as a couple of the best local tavernas in the area, both certainly worth a visit or two.
