The Psomas Residence (Megaron) is located in the historic Dioikitirio neighbourhood in central Thessaloniki. It was commissioned by Asterios Psomas in 1927 and designed by the prominent interwar architect Max Rubens in the neoclassical architectural style.

I and my brother George are Asterios' great-grandchildren, and spent much of our childhood in the building at our grandparents' place. At this very personal setting, we hope our guests enjoy an original Thessalonikian experience.

The space
The 2nd floor 90m2 apartment has been fully renovated in 2019 in a contemporary style. It is equipped with modern amenities and safety precautions, including Wi-Fi, a central alarm system and smoke detectors, as well as a heat pump for both cooling and heating.

Dioikitirio (Government House) is a historic neighbourhood of downtown Thessaloniki, littered with monuments dating from the Byzantine to the modern era and marked by its namesake Government House, an Ottoman-era eclecticism building which today houses the Vice-Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace.

The Western Walls of the city, the Bit Bazar, the Ancient Roman Agora, the Ladadika and Frangon districts, as well as Aristotelous square, the Modiano Market and the western end of the city's promenade are all a 10'-15' walk and are well worth a visit.

A supermarket can be found across the street from the apartment, while some of the best nightlife and restaurants of the city are just a stone's throw away.
