This 2 floor house offers a bit of luxury in the small village of Plati, with views to mountains, the plateau of Lassithi, just 2km from the birthplace of Zeus and 35 min drive to the beach. It's located above the traditional cafeteria for you to taste Cretan delicacies. The large roof terrace offers unforgettable views in the winter; perfect for dinners in the summer.
The space
The house is fully refurbished.
On the first floor there is the open space living area (kitchen, living room and dining area), the bathroom (shower facilities), master bedroom and the foyer of the 2-floor-bedroom.
The wooden stairs in the foyer lead to the double bedroom and the roof terrace on the second floor where you can relax using the terrace outdoor furniture. The foyer can be easily used as a third bedroom as there is a kingsize sofa bed.

Plati village is an authentic Cretan mountain village and one of the 17 villages of the Lassithi plateau. You can discover the small churches hidden in the forest and taps with mineral water straight from mountains. The plateau is famous for its white-sailed windmills, (more accurately, wind-pump, made to a local design), that have been used for two centuries to irrigate the land.
Because of its isolated nature the number of permanent residents who are mostly farmers is low. You will meet Cretans in traditional clothing and you will experience the real hospitality (filoxenia) of Cretan grandmothers wherever you go. During the summer, mainly in July and August, a big number of traditional festivals (glenti) with cretan live music bands take place at the main squares of the Lassithi plateau villages. This is where friends and families gather to eat and dance all together.
In the Plati village there
