Neighborbood Overview:

The neighborhood, called "Ramey Village" (in the vicinity of bustling and lively rue Ramey) is really great as we are close to the streets winding up to the Sacré-Coeur, many of them are very picturesque (rue Muller, rue du Chevalier de la Barre, avenue Junot). The area is trendy, cosmopolitan, very lively, filled with cafés, restaurants and bars. We are close to Chateau Rouge (well-known for its African marketplace) and Barbès (famous for the fancy Brasserie Barbès and the Louxor Art Deco Movie Theatre), and of course Anvers, Abbesses and Lamarck-Caulaincourt (gorgeous architecture in the fancier part of Montmartre).

Travel Details from the host

We we would be happy to host you in our recently refurbished Parisian apartment, where we live with our 2 young children, in a lively neighborhood on the hillside of Montmartre. The 3-bedroom apartment is cosy, airy, well equipped, and filled with books and DVDs. The living room and the TV/extra bedroom both offer a view on a gorgeous Haussmann-style building. The Sacré-Coeur is around the corner, as well as lots of little gems (shops, restaurants, small venues and museums we can recommend). We have great food stores and restaurants, lovely streets and picturesque squares. We will provide a detailed, helpful guide (in French and in English) designed to give you tips and enhance your Paris experience. As reflected in the apartment, our special interests are literature, theater, cinema, modern art, cooking, etc. We have done home and hospitality exchange for many years (London, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Cape Cod, as well as Cape Town), always very successfully, and we are looking forward to welcoming new guests. If we cannot meet you in person we will exchange emails and talk to you on the phone, and you will be taken care of by a friend/neighbor or a Bnbsitter for check-in and check-out.
