Unlike some other villages on the island that are stricly for tourists, Emporio is an active local village with all the necessary services such as bakery, supermarket , restaurants cafes and others. the traditional settlement is beautifuly built and preserved. You can walk in the quiet alleys and feel the special atmosphere. It was built by the venitians hundreds of years ago and still have the old castle and the gulash tower.
