Neighborbood Overview:

Located between Bastille and Père Lachaise, the apartment is at a walking-distance to both. Right on the edge of touristique area, it takes advantage of all the convenience, but is just far enough to escape the crowds.
In an historical artisan's community, our street is still dotted with traditional workshops of all sorts and studios of graphic designers or architects. It is also a residential street of young professionals and young families.
The neighborhood today is also a quite reputable foodies' destination with a bunch of world renowned young chefs opening their kitchens. They are all within walking distance to the apartment. We also have excellent cheese shops, pastry shops, bouchers, etc. minutes away. The Gourmet magazine has said it to be the new"left bank" of Paris.
When walking to Bastille and the Marais through Rue de la roquette or rue de Charonne, you'll also pass by tons of cafés, bars and artisanal boutiques for a typical bourgeois bohemian Parisian

Hi, I am Lilan. From Shanghai to Los Angles and now in France, I have pretty much equally divided my adult life on the three continents. My husband Nicolas is French. He is an architect and architectural school professor. I am an interior designer. Instead of traveling, we prefer to live in different places. Obviously, life has brought us around the world. We do 'travel' a lot for many reasons, in which case we stay in hotels for the simplicity. But whenever we can, we try to stay in a place long enough to feel we are one of its inhabitants. That's when renting someone else's home becomes interesting. It gives a sense of belonging and attachment to the place we knew nothing about. A neighborhood café, a grocery store, a newsstand or a dog next door can all be our special connections with the place and make us semi-locals. Airbnb made it possible to find our temporary homes anywhere in the world, but it can be tricky sometimes just from looking at pictures. And we are especially difficult to please when it comes to esthetic and comfort. That's why we try to provide high standard amenities for our potential guests. Not just the obvious things that you can see from the pictures, but also qualities that you can only feel when you are actually here. we are looking forward to hearing from you.
