Livadia village, in which the villa is located, has developed gradually over the last 50 or 60 years, set at the foot of the Koutroule mountains, and washed by the salt breezes blowing from the Cretan sea. Far from the tourist crowded hot spots around the city of Chania, Livadia is close to the world famous beach of Elafonisi and the spectacular monastery of Chrisoskalitissa also Falasarna and Balos beaches and the ancient mountain villages which dot the mountainside above.

There is a traditional taverna serving delicious local food 300 meters away. Just next to the villa is Vigli, a peaceful viewing area built around a natural spring, which provides unforgettable sunset views over the Cretan Sea.

Travel Details from the host -> Georgios (b. 1980) was born and raised in a farming family in the village of Livadia; from an early age he was taught to love and cherish the nature, history and traditions of this part of the island of Crete. Building in the stone of the area has been a vital part of this, leading Georgios to settle in Livadia with his wife Angeliki and their four children, three dogs, two geese, one goat and a growing family of peacocks!
