The neighbourhood is quiet and self-sufficient. You do not need to go far from the house to get everything you need.
Local stores such as supermarkets, bakeries and cafeterias are within walking distance. There is even a small fishing port where you can buy fresh fish as soon as the fishermen come in (a gem!).
If you are not the cooking and grilling type, there are some good tavernas with fresh fish and meat just a minute walk from the house.
It is advisable to rent a car to explore other areas of the island.
