Tour Itinerary presented by Step Into London Tours

Take a drive around Parliament Square and see the famous Palace of Westminster where the British Parliament sits and Big Ben, the famous bell in the Elizabeth Tower.

Driving up Whitehall you pass the official London residence of the British Prime Minister and many other government buildings. Get your camera ready to take a picture of the colourful soldiers of the Household Cavalry guarding the entrance to Horse Guards.

Your tour continues up Whitehall into Trafalgar Square where you will see Nelson's Column and the National Gallery of Art.

You will now drive up The Mall, the long road through the beautiful St James's Park leading to Buckingham Palace, the London residence of the British Monarch.

You next drive around Hyde Park Corner with its impressive Wellington Arch and into the wealthy district of Belgravia, the embassy district of London. Here you can see beautiful stuccoed terraced houses and quaint squares.

Passing through upmarket Knightsbridge, home of Harrods department store, you arrive in Albertopolis, the museum quarter of London. You could pause your tour here to visit the Victoria and Albert Museum or Natural History Museum!

You make a brief stop at the Royal Albert Hall to admire this beautiful concert venue opened by Queen Victoria in 1871 to honour the memory of her husband Prince Albert. Time to take some photos and admire the architecture.

Heading over to Kensington, you pass the birthplace of Queen Victoria and London home of several members of the British Royal Family.

Driving along the perimeter of glorious Hyde Park you enter Oxford Street, London's busy shopping street, seeing the impressive Marble Arch on the way. Look out for Mr Selfridge.

Driving down Oxford Street and beautiful Regency Regent Street, you arrive at Piccadilly Circus with its famous Eros statue, bright screens and theatres. This is London's entertainment district.

You will now be driven via the buzzing Shaftesbury Avenue and through China Town to the City of London, where London's story began some 2000 years ago. Look out for the dragons as you enter the City!

Passing the former newspaper offices of Fleet Street you arrive at the stunning St Paul's Cathedral, Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece. You pause here to take some pictures and get some refreshments.

Your driver will weave through City, passing the Bank of England and the Mansion House (home of the Lord Mayor of London) to arrive at the Tower of London. This is London's great fortress and home of the Crown Jewels, used in the coronation of the British Monarch. Why not add in a visit to the Tower of London to top off your tour.

Heading away from the City of London you drive along the Embankment next to the River Thames. Look out for the London Eye as you drive along. Your tour ends at Westminster Abbey, the royal coronation church. Why not add a visit to Westminster Abbey onto your itinerary.
