- ATTENTION: be aware,the airbnb is adjacent to my private living area. You have the airbnb space to yourself but the wall between the 2 parts is not accoustically isolated so for sound you are not completely private. You can not see each other, but you can hear sounds from the other side .

The space
you have a whole space of 60m2 to yourself, next to my private part of the boat.

Furthermore there is a spacious deck to enjoy the sun and views as well as a glass roof above the living area that opens to have a cool breeze or lots of natural light streaming in. It is exceptional for a houseboat to draw so much light in. In winter there is a cosy stove to keep your feet warm.

The boat is located at the entrance of the 'new docks' (Nieuwe Dokken), an area just next to the center where in the past this was an industrial area, operating over water.
This whole area (that used to be 'the old docks') has recently been developed (and still is) with areas to live, schools, open space, playground, beach, bars, cycling path, walking path, etc. New neighboorhood that due to Corona is now also being discovered by the Ghentians, for walking and cycling, and for water activities. It is still a quiet place so close to the city, train station and the ring of Ghent. But fun on the water (lots of kayaking, little boats, rubber boats, paddle boarding) is popular nowadays and it comes close, since you are also on the water ,-) and people are curious to see life on a boat.

The boat is next to a quay and a cycling path. There is no car road, only a simple road where residents can load and unload the car, as can you if you come with the car.

Travel Details from the host -> Hi, I am Lies and i live on the houseboat with my 2 children, Viggo and Raffi. They alternate between me and their dad every other week. I bought the Aurelia Feria end of 2017. It is a 'spits', used to be a cargo boat of 40 m long and was build end of the 60's. Since January 2020 the boat is back at its permanent own spot on the water after a thorough renovation. And my children as well as me are enjoying our new home to the fullest, even though it is not completely finished and I can not see, feel or smell paint anymore. The boat is also used for my coaching practice, to guide groups and individuals on their 'quest' to connection, with themselves, with others and with the world around them. Finally, I also wish to offer it to people all around the world to come and experience life on a boat and discover the fantastic city of Ghent, where I have been living for the last 20 years.
