Nisyros is a very special place,and i think that the volcano is the main responsible for this.It is wild but also light,dark(volcanic land) but happy and friendly,crazy but wise.The nature is seducing,but u need a second carefull glance to discover its magic.It s a wonder island,where u take a stone,u throw it to the sea,and the stone floats!
Mythology tell us,that it was formed from a stone that god Poseidon threw against Polivotis giant,cutting it from Kos, during the gods versus giants war,many many,many years ago.And it is Polivotis who is sighing,when the volcano errupts,the poor dear.
The island has special flora,some of which exists only here,and each area has some different plants from the others.This is realy interesting when it happens in a 45 sq.kilometres area.The animals u will surely meet are porks,goats and oxes,in a half free situation,and wild hares,cartridges,owls and many other birds.And various types of lizards.

Travel Details from the host -> I was born in 1957,and i still am independent,adventurus traveller since 27 without pause.I ve been around South east Asia and Indonesia ,India,Turquia,Egypt Pakistan and Southern Africa.I ve been all around south america,in Nicaragua,and a bit in Europe-Spain,Portugal,Paris,ex-Yugoslavia and of course Greece.Always backpacking,and moving around by local buses or moto,in countries '' without roads''like Cambodia 20 years ago. I love to play music(percusion is my instrument,together with piano) and i can assure u that music is one of the most happy and easy going ways to approach and comunicate with people.And of course i love to listen to music,almost anything,as for me ,music is a good way to understand the different cultures. I also like languages ,i speak fluently greek,english and spanish ,and good enough italian and french .And of course,like most travellers,a little bit of everything,wich u forget when u r at home,and u re-remember in a magic way when u r in the country. Other things i am into,is cinema and anthropology I started like a host around 10 years ago ,though my house was always hosting guests,usually friends that i ve made during my travells. My central idea about hosting is to provide to travellers what i am also looking for,while on the road, which is : 1.Price to be a correct exchange 2.Clean and good vibe place,that makes u feel "at home" 3.Good travellers infos 4.A friend away from home
