Neapolis is a small town and a former municipality in Lasithi, eastern Crete. There is a lively Greek community who frequent the countless cafes and tavernas. It is located 12 kilometres (7 miles) west from Agios Nikolaos in the green valley of Mirabello Bay where there are many beaches.

The main road does not run through the middle like most towns in Crete. The surrounding area is mountainous and is surrounded by olive trees. Olives and olive oil are a very important part of the local agricultural economy. Neapolis has traditional narrow streets and cobbled roads. The Cathedral of the Virgin Mary (Megali Panagia) is located on the central square.

Travel Details from the host -> I have run my own café/restaurant for eight years. It was situated on the busy Eluonda causeway and was frequented by tourists and Greeks alike. The café is famous for its authentic Greek atmosphere where many local musicians went to play. I am from Fourni village and I lived in Munich Germany with my German husband for ten years. I consequently speak English and German fluently. I have now passed on my café and wish to work in the tourist industry with the Poppy Season project organising tourist buddy tours with my Airbnb guests.
