After another 1km, you’ll meet the last part of the vast beachfront of East Rethymnon, Skaleta. The surrounding area has developed in the recent years, being now full with large hotels and touristic amenities.

In a short driving distance, you can also reach Platanias, a well-known tourist resort that is in fact a suburb of Rethymno. Platanias has a great variety of choices, including shops, supermarkets, restaurants and many bars and night-clubs.
