Exarxia is one of the most historical neighborhoods located in the heart of Athens. Over the last decades, it was a gathering point for artists, poets, and writers. Now it's one of the liveliest and alternative areas. Around the neighborhood, on the walls, one can observe a lot of graffiti which, from my hosting experience so far, some people find obscure and others love it:) The area contains a lot of bars and cafes and gathers people from all over Athens. It is appropriate if you want to meet Athens nightlife, but for relaxation also as it has many hidden spots. Also, it allows you to explore many different aspects of the city, as It is near to many other well-known neighborhoods of Athens (Panepistimio- Kolonaki-Monastiraki) with different characteristics, reachable by 15 or 20 minutes walking.

Travel Details from the host I just finished my studies as an electrical engineer and I am about to start my PhD. Apart from my science that I love pretty much, I also like practising sports, such as basket and muay thai, and reading literature and poetry, mainly greek. Above all these, my biggest " addiction" is music, from classic to rock or even electronic.
