This is an old athenian house of the 19th c. It used to be a small farmhouse but it is now in a busy semi-central neighborhood. It is surrounded by tall blocks of flats which do not disturb the convenience of the yard. The street is narrow and quiet. No cars in close vicinity. Once in the yard you have the feeling of a peaceful countryhouse.

The space
The house is an authentic example of the old athenian farmhouses of the 19th century. It was built in 1883 pretty much in the same typology that ancient houses were built around a central courtyard. I personally as an architect have transformed it into a pleasant modern living environment preserving the original character without compromising the modern comforts. It looks like a small oasis inside the otherwise dull athenian urban fabric. The renovation has preserved a lot of stuff from the original structure so that you will be able to appreciate the simplicity and the sustainability concerned design.
