The house is located on what was once the principal road between Xania and Kissamos Kastelli. The intercity bus service still uses this route running once an hour in each direction. A rental car is only necessary for exploration and the house is perfectly located for this - the road junction giving you choices to world-famous places such as Elafonisi, Kissamos, Balos, or Fallasarna is just one kilometer away!

This is natural Cretan farming countryside - there are few immediate tourist developments and almost no signs of anything other than normal, real, down-to-earth Cretan life.
The unspoilt natural sandy beach is a few minutes easy walk away (or 2 minutes drive) through shady olive groves and fields which often stretch right down to the sea - a glorious place for swimming and sunbathing.

There are three tavernas on or near the six km beach but otherwise there is little other than a patchwork of fields and the occasional house.
