The capital city of Chania is located in west Crete. The city boasts of its old port which is one of the most sought-after spots on the island. The whole port has been built by the Venetians and its major landmarks are the lighthouse at the entrance of the port and Firkas fortress. Many museums, churches, Byzantine monasteries, Minoan ruins are some of the attractions and places of interest near the city.


The village of Aspro, where our villa is located, is a small village on a hill in Apokoronas, just above the tourist resort of Almirida. It is set back from the main road and very quiet (no passing traffic). It overlooks the Bay of Souda
