In the historic village of Mylopotamos province of Panormo, in the late 19th century a stone house was built from grandfather George Modatso's and his family.
In 1206 the Genoese Pescatore, built in front of the sea, the Castle of Mylopotamos, known historically as, Castello di Mylopotamo.
The Venetians conquerors of Crete preserve the castle in place until 1583.
At this ancient castle's atmosphere with stones and standing walls, the house was built in 1898. The main wall of the house has a 1.70 meters width and is an original part from the ancient cstle. In the upper part of the second floor, the wall is 70cm.
Its architecture remains the same even today. The house was renovated in 2003, with respect to tradition, aesthetics and history.
