Kalavarda is known for its traditional meat and fish taverns. The house is a 5 min walk from the central square of the village which also has a convenience store and a café/bistro. Kalavarda is ideal for those who want to combine the fresh air of a morning hike with the breeze of a walk by the coastline. An organised kite-surfing station is located just a 10 min walk away from the house.
For the history fans, Ancient Kamiros, an acropolis build in the 5th century BC, is located just 4km away.
Rhodes Island is famous for the number of traditional festivals, called "paniyiria", taking place at various villages. Here at Kalavarda, we have our own traditional "paniyiri" every year on the 24 July where you can have a taste of Greek cuisine and culture.
