The space
Situated in the heart of the beautiful traditional village of Sivas, on the southern coast of Crete, Mikon comprises of two adjoining Mikon Studio and Mikon Apartment, located just off the main village square. Dating from the early 1900s and originally a family home, with farm buildings, the structure was in ruin until the current owners undertook an extensive renovation of the buildings. The studios offer a blend of traditional Cretan charm and modern luxury with a private, shaded and quiet courtyard. Ideal for families or a group of friends who wish to stay together but also have some personal space and privacy. The studios are fully wheelchair accessible. and can accommodate up to 10 guests.

Situated on the southern coast of Crete, Sivas is one of the few villages in Greece which has been designated as a true tradition village. Packed with history and stunning traditional architecture, Sivas is an all year round destination, offering something for everybody at different times of the year. The village square is the beating heart of Sivas life. Around the square there are long established tavernas, offering traditional Greek cuisine. Each taverna has a proud family tradition and each offers their own specialties. There are also a number of coffee shops and groceries stores.

The village is just a few minutes drive to the protected beach of Komos, where sea turtles nest each year. The cosmopolitan resort of Matala is just a 10 minute drive away. Matala, with its sheltered beach and famous caves, was once part of the hippie trail and offers an eclectic mix of traditional and modern dining as well as a good selection of bars to suite all tastes.

She is a real character & if you are lucky enough to meet her you will know what I mean. She keeps the apartments immaculate & keeps us boys under her wing. I have had a long association with the Greek Island of Crete and my property Mikon is located in the beautiful traditional village of Sivas on the South coast. Mikon is managed locally by my friend Ciara. She lives all year in the village and is always at hand to provide help and advice. As a traveler, I am always mindful of the importance of good hospitality, local knowledge, clean and comfortable accomadation.
