Renovated 50m2 apartment in the center of the peaceful village of Kontomari, 15 minutes drive from Chania and only 5 minutes drive to the beach . Platanias, a very popular tourist resort with bustling nightlife, cafeterias, restaurants and shops is only 6km (10 min) away.
The large veranda and balconies overlooking the sea and the surrounding green hills provide a wonderful overall experience.

The space
The house has been renovated in 2018. There is a bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The two main rooms have separate entrances which is very practical. Natural light casts in the house from all directions. Due to the positioning of the building on the north-south axis and the existence of several windows and doors, the house is cool and breezy even in the hot summer days.

Please note that it is on the first floor (ground floor is uninhabited) and there is a short metal staircase leading to the property.

Kontomari is a small and peaceful village 18km from Chania. It offers quiet and tranquil holidays amidst the beautiful Cretan rural landscape whilst being only a few minutes drive from more bustling areas such as Platanias, where you can find anything from small traditional shops to super markets, restaurants and bars.

It is also next to the main road Chania-Kissamos making it very easy to explore the West-Northwest of the island (eg Balos/Gramvousa, Falassarna and many other interesting sites).

I don't have the chance to travel a lot, but when you feel the excitement of people coming to a new place and when you come in touch with other cultures is almost as if you travel yourself! I live in Chania with my wife and children and I teach sociology in high school. When I am not contemplating about mankind, I like to walk my dog and watch sports. I also like beekeeping, honey is much less controversial than knowledge about society! My father is the expert in bees, hence the name "Queen Bee's Flight" for the house and also because of its panoramic view . My mother's parents used to live there and she wanted to restore the place, to become "alive" again. My brothers Dimitris and Giannis are also involved in this airbnb process so when we do something for it, it's a an extra chance for a family reunion!
