The Xingó Canyon emerged after the damming of the waters of the São Francisco River in order to build the Xingó Hydroelectric Power Plant, which was inaugurated in 1994. From there, the perfect combination was created: the sacred waters of one of the most important rivers in the country - the São Francisco – with exuberant and imposing rocky walls. The tour starts very early, at 6:30 am, leaving the hotels towards the pier to board the Catamaran Rei do Cangaço or Delmiro Gouveia. A local guide will lead us and tell us a little about the curiosities of the place, we will stop for a swim in the clear waters of Velho Chico, in the paradisiacal "Gruta do Talhado". After getting to know the place where “the sertão became the sea”, the tour ends and we return to the hotel with an estimated arrival date of 19:00h.
