Neighborbood Overview:

Living in Montmartre is living in a village yet in a world capital. The cobbled streets are full of shops, cafes, restaurants, theatres, museums and galleries. I never feel uncomfortable walking in Montmartre, even at night, because it is much more lively and peopled than other neighborhoods. Inside our villa neighbors say "Bonjour" to one another. Three nearby streets are lined with great food shops (butchers, delis, specialty foods, green grocers, bakeries, etc): rue Lepic, rue des Abbesses, and the fabulous rue des Martyrs. The Barbes farmers' market is the least expensive market for fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs in Paris and an unique experience. The apartment is located next to the Marché Saint Pierre, hangout of seamstresses and clothing designers. A public swimming pool is one block away. And of course, reigning over all is the majestic Sacre Coeur.
