Sheepsehad Bay was named after a fish - the sheepshead -that can no longer be found here in the area. This lively neighborhood was once a fishing destination that many visited along with its close proximity to the race track.

Located next to Brighton Beach and Coney Island, Sheepshead Bay has an eclectic mix of immigrants that including Italians, Turkish, Georgians, Eastern European and Chinese. You can get everything you need in this neighborhood. When you're ready to relax, head to the nearest cafe (there are quite a few) or go to a restaurant or two. Then, take a walk along the bay.

In the summer, you can walk to Manhattan Beach or take the subway to Brighton Beach/Coney Island to enjoy the seaside.
