The turquoise waters and sandy beaches of Tris Ekklisies are well worth the drive from Heraklion - so are nearby secluded coves and beaches. The waters are crystal clear and deep. Most of the beach is not organized.
There are two tavernas on the beach and a supermarket that is open during high season. If you visit during the low season, we suggest bringing your groceries. You can buy some in Charakas, just before you arrive in Tris Ekklisies.
Just east of the cove, along the seaside dirt road, is the rock of Kolovrehtis where there is a small cove. The beaches of Volakas and Glikia Vlyhada are very popular with locals and free campers.
