Without even taking the metro you will be between two picturesque canals (Saint Martin and Ourcq), it's perfect to go out for a drink and party (La Rotonde, 25° Est, Pavillon des Canaux, Point Ephémère,..), walk, picnic (long the canal, parcs Buttes Chaumont and La Villette), bike ride (long the canals for, to the Montmartre, take a Velib - shared parisian bike) or boat trip (get till the Seine river!).
