The space
Fourkovouni is a picturesque fishing village nestled across the shoreline of a small bay. It is the first one you see on your left as you enter the gulf of Milos. It is strategically placed facing south so it always remains protected from north winds. Fourkovouni has been officially listed as a traditional settlement and has a stunning view of the island's natural gulf. The few houses in the village which locals call "sirmata" (in plural, "sirma" in singular) are rare buildings carved in the mountain's foot, painted white with colorful doors and windows.
