I love this neighbourhood, which is the one of the bucolic Paris, the Paris of locks, floodgates and its barges, ideal for romantic walks or with your family, and still, being a few minutes away from the centre.
Activities are numerous here: walks, jogging, canoeing along the canal, electric boat rental, barges trips till the Seine river, petanque (a famous game of bowls from the south of France), bicycle paths. Also, during summer, you will benefit from the famous “Paris-Plage” activities (Beach in Paris): sailboats, deckchairs, children’ play areas, dances and open-air bars. You can reach by foot the 104 (this new performing arts place); le “Parc de la Villette”, larger park in Paris hosting “La Cité de la musique” (City of Music and Dance”); la “Cité des Sciences” (City of Science); the “Zenith de Paris”; the “Geode”. 7 minutes away by walk, you’ll find the marvellous park “Les Buttes-Chaumont” (the Chaumont hills) which will bring you far from the Parisian excitement.
